Meet Artist Josh Herman

Ceramist Josh Herman gives a new voice to the Mid-Century Modern design aesthetic. Herman’s creations evoke both subconscious abstractions and the concrete beauty of nature itself. Diverse in scale and use, ranging from small tea bowls to monumental sculptures, the wide variety of Herman’s objects makes him a unique addition to the ceramics world.
Josh has been commissioned by top designers for celebrity clients and hotel resort properties; others can be found in art studios and private collections worldwide.
To see our Josh Herman pieces, view our online gallery now, or visit our showroom. Other pieces are available by special order and commissions are available.

Just Acquired – Relief Sculpture in Cast Paper

Horizon Art recently acquired a series of unique sculptural cast paper pieces by renowned artists Oreland C. Joe, Alvin Marshall and James Darum. The series portrays five different Native American scenes and figures – they were exquisitely reproduced using white hand-made papers in small edition sizes of 75 or 135.
Horizon Art is offering these pieces to our clients at $500 retail, unframed. The framed image shown here is being offered at $1,250 retail. This is an opportunity to pick up these rare dimensional pieces at very reasonable prices.

Budget-Friendly Framing & Design

By it’s very nature, custom framing can be expensive; but it doesn’t have to be! Take a look at some of our tips and design ideas to achieve a custom, unique look without breaking the bank.
Use decorative mat openings, v-grooves or similar elements to accentuate your artwork. Today’s computerized mat cutters offer a host of easy and cost effective designs.
Frame a client’s family heirlooms, corporate memorabilia, historically or geographically relevant keep-sakes and artifacts to create an interesting discussion piece or focal point. Such treasures often sit in a drawer or box; framing them in a shadow-box or mounting them to a fabric-covered wall hanging will certainly personalize and make them pop!
Consider alternatives to original art. We have multiple sources for very reasonably priced prints on paper, canvas, and other substrates. Another budget-conscious idea is to mount a traditional print on paper to a wood panel and finish it off by applying a protective acrylic gel to the surface. Custom embellishments, like additional surface texture and custom painted sides are also great ways to create distinctive and affordable artwork your clients will appreciate and remember.
Be sure to ask one of our creative consultants about these and other framing/design tips. Sign up for our e-mail to stay informed about latest products, design tips, special events and more!
